Why Do We Pick Scabs?
I know I'm not alone in this. I think that most, or at least half of people pick their scabs. Why is it so appealing????
Well the medical answer to your question would be:
Picking is a compulsive behavior called excoriation, it’s a clinical symptom, usually of profound depression. Compulsive Skin Picking is called dermatillomania, Like a lot of repetitive habits–including hair pulling, and nail biting - scientists aren’t sure why we do it, but they have a few clues as to why we pick scabs, Research shows that often before we start picking our skin, or pulling our hair, were usually in a state of stress, but doing something sedentary (like sitting in front of a computer) The mix of high stress and sitting still seems to affect the release dopamine throughout the brain, which is a chemical that increases desire and motivates people to seek positive rewards examples of positive rewards are things like sex & food. And that secret sense of satisfaction that we get when we pick a scab. For some strange reason picking scabs is also though to release endorphins in our bodies. BUT it can also be caused by OCD and anxiety…..lol sorry my mom is a nurse so that how i know all that.
but a normal answer to your question is simple some ppl jus like to do it, they like the way it feels or just cant stand to see the scab…. some people even eat their scabs (YUCK) lol anyway hope this helps
Because it feels like something is on you and we don't like that. It's like having a piece of scotch tape on your elbow. It's just irritating. It's less about it being orgasmic and more about getting rid of the pesky coat of dried blood basking in the sun.
